Position Description Will support the JSC ERT Group in meeting in Environmental Support Services Contract obligations including, but not limited to, administration, development, and enhancement of environmental programs at JSC and other associated facilities. The position is to support environmental review of projects. Duties and responsibilities include: Performing environmental compliance inspections for multiple programs at construction sites including waste handling (including asbestos waste), storm water runoff, and Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs);Completing inspection checklists using judgment to ascertain whether environmental requirements are being met for projects;Collecting and reviewing submittals against environmental requirements and submitting to Projects Manager for final submittal to contractors/subcontractors; Maintaining database/spreadsheet for tracking of inspections. Advising and informing IDIQ project leads of the current status and schedule of Buildings.Attending project meetings for updates and communicating status to the group and obtaining needed information and support.Maintaining detailed records for budget and waste tracking.Other environmental duties may be assigned as needed by management. Required Skills 2+ years of experience working with waste and storm water. Working knowledge of state, federal, and local environmental regulations including RCRA, waste, asbestos, and storm water disciplines. Must be familiar with applicable safety and industrial hygiene requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE) including protective clothing and eye/ear/head protection. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills (effectively communicates with professionals as well as laborers), strong planning skills, and organizational abilities. Must have excellent working knowledge of software tools including office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must be 40-hour Hazwoper certified or have current 8-hour refresher. Must be able to work outdoors. Education BA/BS in Engineering or Science with background or major in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
