The Environmental Test Technician will setup and conduct vibration testing using electrodynamics vibration systems and digital vibration controllers. Technician will be responsible for programming test requirements into the digital vibration control systems. This will include setting up instrumentation for control and data acquisition required to perform, monitor, and log testing results as detailed in Test Procedures. The technician will also work directly with test engineers, managers, and customers in setting up and performing testing. Prior experience in using Spectral Dynamics and Unholtz Dickee vibration controllers to conduct vibration testing and perform data analysis would be helpful. This position will also be responsible for setting up and or supporting other aspects of the environmental tests lab such as thermal tests and vacuum testing. Position will also be responsible for some test equipment and data systems preventative maintenance activities. Associates degree in an engineering discipline and 2 years practical lab experience performing vibrations/shock testing on electrodynamics vibrations systems and using digital vibration control systems. 5 years related work experience in lieu of degree. Ability to setup and conduct vibration and shock testing on electrodynamic vibration test systems. Ability to setup vibration test fixtures and all control/monitor instrumentation i.e. accls, and charge amplifiers. Ability to use common electrical test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and power supplies. Should be mechanically inclined and be able to work productively either individually or as member of a team with minimal supervision. Individual should be highly motivated and have the ability to readily acquire and effectively apply new skills and information. Detail-oriented; careful planner; able to efficiently fulfill multiple, concurrent responsibilities Able to lift 40 pounds. Ability to work overtime and off shifts when needed.
