Job Description: Staff Environmental Scientist Key Responsibilities: This position requires the ability to collect various data and assess data to reach a conclusion within the dictates of state, federal and industry guidelines and present the reasoned conclusions in a report. Excellent written and verbal skills are required. Initially the work will focus on conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments (ESAs). Phase II ESA field activities can include logging of soil borings and oversight of groundwater monitoring well installations. Field activities will include collecting soil and groundwater samples as well as documenting field activities. Office activities may include data review, validation, and/or interpretation of analytical results. Will provide assistance with the preparation of plans and reports under the supervision of a Senior Scientist or Senior Engineer. Will maintain spreadsheets/databases of chemical results and other data for projects, prepare charts, conduct routine scientific calculations and run computer programs. Will follow company safety standards, participate in safety training, and prepare and implement site safety plans. Basic/Required Qualifications BS in Environmental Science, Geology, or related technical degree. 1 to 3+ years environmental field experience. 40-hour HAZWOPER OSHA training desired. Must be a self starter with good written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and strong time management capabilities required. Must be able to a pass drug screen, physical background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record.
