Waller Location: Jackson, MS Description: JMWA is seeking an Area Environmental Protection Specialist Description Primary responsibilities include Hazardous Material (HM) and Hazardous waste (HW) compliance, spill prevention, HM training, site assistance visits, corrective action development, drafting installation corrective action plans, and root cause determination. Broad based working knowledge of Environmental regulation is desired (CAA, CWA, SDWA, RCRA, EPCRA, lead, radon, asbestos).

Job Title: Forestry Technician Fire Company: Location: Brooksville, MS Description: Incumbent provides technical and administrative supervision to the unit (s); plans and directs overall work to be accomplished; sets and adjust priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Provides leadership and direction in therecognition and mitigation of environmental and work place hazards of the wildland fire environment. Serves on prescribed fire and fuels projects.  Administers all aspects of the prescribed fire/fuels plans, ensuring that preparation, ignition, holding, mop-up, and rehabilitation are completed to the standards specified. Implements prescribed fire plans, fuels projects and wildland fire use plans, monitors fire behaviors, evaluates fire effects, identifies potential problems and  makes recommendations.  Conducts field reconnaissance of prescribed fire/fuels treatment units, summarizes prescriptive criteria for meeting program objectives. Utilizes wildland fire behavior knowledge and firefighting experience and assigns missions to ground and aviation wildland fire suppression resources; participates in an analysis of incident objectives, strategies and  tactics, safety, cost effectiveness/efficiency and assist in developing and revising interagency annual operating plans, annual budget requests, the fire management plan and operating procedures pertaining to wildland fire suppression and prescribed fire.  Identifies and provides for training needs to support prescribed fire and fuels management programs. Participates in wildland and safety training in the techniques, practices, and methods of fire suppression.  Participates in preparedness reviews, proficiency checks and drills, and safety sessions.
