The Energy, Environment, and Infrastructure Business Unit currently has a need for an experienced Environmental Technician at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH. The Environmental Technician performs a variety of tasks at the direction of Environmental Engineers and Scientists including sampling of air, water, and soil. Technician support will include performing field work related to the Spill Response Program, NPDES Program, and Ventilation Systems. Duties may include but not be limited to performing site inspections of oil filled equipment; site inspections for SPCC, fire prevention, and NPDES of Above Ground Storage Tanks per SPCC requirements; sampling of water at outfalls located in rough terrain and involving climbing stairs and ladders; and ventilation system air sampling involving roof and laboratory access. Required Skills: High school diploma (or equivalent) and 3+ years of relevant environmental sampling experience. Candidate must be able to work under variable field conditions (weather, insects, and/or limited personnel and vehicle access). The preferred candidate must be a U.S. citizen and should be able to successfully pass a basic background check. Candidate should be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, for presentations, reports, and other uses. Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills as the position involves interfacing with client and on-site personnel.
