PROGRESSIVE SOLUTIONS LLC has 40 job openings for full time temporary seasonal forestry workers for brush/precommercial thinner positions starting 05/15/2010 and ending 11/15/2010 NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Work consists of using hand tools to clear vegetation or debris from forests, pine plantations, boundaries, fire trails, roads, and rights of way, worker must be able to meet production standard of spraying 30 gal of herbicide per 8 hour day after 2nd week of training. The ability to walk 15 miles a day on rough terrain carrying up to 50 lbs required. All equipment and training provided by employer. Hourly wage is $12.55. Employment is 40 hours per week, M-F 7am to 6pm, some Sat and Sun, and some overtime, with overnight travel to locations in AL, KY, MS, and TN required. Job Title: Environmental Specialist

Monitors and analyzes federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations (including but not limited to EPA, DOT, TDEC, OSHA, etc.). Review regulatory requirements, research best practices, and establish KUB’s current regulatory practices for compliance programs such as PCB management, Spill Prevention, Containment and Control, Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I, II, and II), Sediment and Erosion Control, Air Emissions, etc. Makes recommendations concerning methods or techniques to assist in attaining, maintaining, or exceeding compliance with applicable regulations. Works with internal work groups to enhance existing or to develop new compliance programs or processes. For new or changes to existing regulations, develops compliance strategies with internal work groups to assure compliance with applicable requirements. Implements compliance strategy through the development of compliance manuals and plans, development of process documentation, and development of training materials for instructors or provide instruction. Communicates regulatory changes to all levels of the organization in written or presentation format. Performs or coordinates audits for existing programs and facilities to ensure compliance with environmental compliance programs. Provides technical advice and assistance regarding environmental regulations and KUB compliance programs to other employees, customers, builders, architects, consultants, and contractors. Collects compliance data and submits compliance reports when required. May conduct educational/promotional programs in order to promote utility and environmental awareness. Works on special projects and assignments as required including support to KUB’s Oil Spill Response program. May participate with other cross-functional teams within KUB, occasionally assuming a leadership role to address specific regulatory goals and objectives. May participate in or oversee specific areas of the Safety and Technical Services Department's operating budget process.
