In the role of Senior Geologist, you'll be responsible for:
  1. Leading complex site investigations, focusing on contaminated sediment and waterway sites and projects;
  2. Overseeing data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation, including:
  • Developing site investigation work plans,
  • Building complex and dynamic Conceptual Site Models,
  • Developing and overseeing high-resolution site characterization strategies,
  • Conducting soil, sediment, and groundwater sampling and quality data collection,
  • Developing geologic cross-sections using geologic and geophysical data,
  • Performing geospatial and geostatistical analysis,
  • Conducting isotope analysis,
  • Interpreting subsurface geologic conditions on a site and regional scale,
  • Creating graphic presentations of geologic data,
  • Leading the development of site investigation, remedial investigation, and design investigation reports.
  • Leading assessments of environmental contamination, focusing on managing and remediating contaminated source areas;
  • Being recognized as a technical expert with authority in a specialized area, resolving complex problems;
  • Managing projects, including directing junior staff, providing technical review and oversight, and mentoring;
  • Preparing reports and proposals, including scopes of work, project budgets, tracking, and schedules;
  • Interacting with clients and delivering presentations;
  • Performing other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with sediment or dredging contaminated materials management;
    • Experience with sediment remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial designs;
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification;
    • Preference for local candidates.
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology, or a related field;
    • At least 10 years of experience with a successful track record in marketing, project management, staff management, and client satisfaction, with business development skills and familiarity with local clients and markets;
    • An advanced degree may offset years of experience;
    • Prior field work experience;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;
    • Highly motivated self-starter;
    • Leadership skills and ability to manage in a team environment;
    • Ability to travel if required;
