DEQ Starting Salary: Environmental Scientist II - $5,120 / month (DOE)

Environmental Scientist I - $4,546 / month (DOE)

Status: Regular, Full-Time

We are looking for a candidate who identifies with this mission and has a passion for serving the citizens in our great state as an Environmental Scientist/Certification Officer.

Summary of Work

As an Environmental Scientist/Certification Officer for the Municipal Facilities Division, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining North Dakota's water/wastewater operator certification program which includes: conducting examinations of operators for new/upgraded certificates, overseeing the renewals of current operator certificates, communication with operators, training of operators, participating in the annual North Dakota Water and Pollution Control Conference; and assisting NDDEQ with water and wastewater inspections as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. DEQ will not provide sponsorships.

DEQ is attempting to fill this position at the Environmental Scientist II level but reserves the right to underfill the position as an Environmental Scientist I.

To be considered for an Environmental Scientist II, you must have a bachelor's degree in natural or physical science with emphasis in biology, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, or closely related field and one year of related experience.
