We are Making Sustainability Happen.As our new **Environmental Scientist Intern**, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.**Role**SLR is seeking an Environmental Scientist Intern to join our busy Salt Lake City, Utah operations. This role offers candidates the opportunity to work under the supervision of professional Ecologists and Environmental Scientists and contribute to a diverse and challenging range of federal/state/municipal and private environmental projects including federal and state wetland delineations, regulatory permitting, threatened and endangered wildlife habitat evaluations, geographical information system mapping and environmental impact analysis, data analysis and report writing will also be an expected task. This temporary position is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization.**Responsibilities:**Working with professional staff and mentors, the intern will perform assignments designed to utilize and develop their professional skills and knowledge that are essential in their chosen field. The intern will assist project teams in the coordination of projects from conception through final plan preparation, fieldwork, analysis, design-related tasks, and preparation of technical reports. The internship is a temporary, seasonal position that generally lasts for up to six months. Exact schedules are to be determined The hourly range for this position is $20- $23. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location This is a non-benefits eligible position**Qualifications/Education/Memberships:** Full time student currently enrolled in an educational field of study at a 4-year degree program from an accredited college or university in an environmental or ecological (or associated) field - OR- recently graduated Knowledge of Word, Excel and relevant computer software-related programs (GIS is a plus) Interest in helping the community Current valid driver's license Verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management Accuracy and attention to detail Teamwork Strong interest in expanding career skills and learning outside of comfort zone Love of natural resources Ability to identify and solve problems Self-motivated and willingness to learn**Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are at the core of who we are and want to be.**SLR is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
