This position will play a critical role in furthering the mission of the Delta Stewardship Councils Delta Science Program of providing the best possible unbiased scientific information to inform water and environmental decision-making in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta). Duties focus on multiple core functions of the Delta Science Program, including collaborative science and peer review. The incumbent will play a critical role in developing and implementing the next Delta Science Plan, a collaboratively-developed document that outlines the vision, principles and approaches for integrating and coordinating science in the Delta. Working at the Delta Stewardship Councils Delta Science Program as an Environmental Scientist or Senior Environmental Scientist, also offers the incumbent the opportunity to collaborate with scientists, engineers, community groups, tribes, and decision makers, manage contracts to support scientific research, and facilitate critical independent scientific peer review panels for the Delta science community.
