Your Opportunity
The Project Geologist position allows for significant career growth and the potential for the right person to rapidly advance into project management. Essential to the position are a working knowledge and familiarity with rules related to contaminated site cleanup in northern New England states (e.g. New Hampshire Contaminated Site Management rules (Env-Or 600), Vermont Investigation and Remediation of Contaminated Properties Rule (I-Rule), Maine Remedial Action Guidelines (RAGs), etc.). Possession of New Hampshire Professional Geologist (PG) credentials is a plus. If not already a PG, the candidate should plan to work toward these credentials. The candidate will work on a variety of site investigation and remediation projects, landfill monitoring projects, transportation/development projects with environmental concerns, Brownfields projects, due diligence assessments in New England and the eastern US.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory proficiency to provide technical support on environmental site investigations and remediation projects.
- Staff training
- Managing field work including soil and groundwater sampling, well installation oversight and coordination
- Preparation of Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments
- Preparation and submittal of regular monitoring reports, remedial action plans, and various regulatory program permit applications
- Providing on-site support at client facilities
- Compiling and interpreting analytical data
- Coordinating and communicating effectively with staff, clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with New Hampshire, Maine, and/or Vermont regulations.
- Possession of, or on track for, a New Hampshire PG certification.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER.
- Ability to work independently, with a team, and lead a field team.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Valid drivers license, a good driving record, and willingness to travel occasionally.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelors degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science is required
- 8+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience in Northern New England
