Position: SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYST

Salary: $64,263 Annually

Department: Parks and Recreation/Natural Resources

Location: John Prince Park, 2700 6th Avenue South, Lake Worth

Hours: 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., Monday Friday; may be required to work on weekends and/or holidays for special events.

Other: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

Plans, coordinates, implements and administers complex environmental programs for Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. Manages a crew engaged in construction, reforestation, rehabilitation and/or general maintenance of park roads, beaches and grounds. Manages specialized environmental programs; develops program models/plans, special reports, permits, and applications; receives non-routine project assignments; determines/develops approaches to solutions for a wide range of difficult issues; interprets/organizes/executes/coordinates program-wide functions and assignments under the general direction of the Environmental Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor's Degree in one of the Physical/Natural Sciences, Environmental Studies, Physical Geography, Landscape Architecture or Engineering; minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in environmental protection/regulation or natural resources management.

Equivalencies :

1. Related Ph.D. and three (3) years of related professional experience

2. Related Masters Degree and four (4) years of related professional experience

3. Unrelated Bachelors Degree and six (6) years of related professional experience

4. Associates Degree and seven (7) years of related professional experience

5. Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and nine (9) years of related professional experience.

PREFERENCE FOR : One (1) year of experience supervising/leading a team of five (5) or more employees; experience working with prescribed burns; experience with invasive plant management; experience preparing environmental plans/reports (e.g., restoration, regulatory, outreach/marketing).
