Soil Scientist 9-P11 (Groundwater Permits Unit)

This position is responsible for reviewing the soil science aspects of sites where the facility is applying for a groundwater discharge permit as required by Part 22, Groundwater Quality (Part 22 Rules) promulgated pursuant to Part 31, Water Resources Protection, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). Specifically, this position is responsible for evaluating compliance with Rules 2233, 2234, 2235, and 2236 for land treatment of wastewater. In addition, this person may act as technical resource person for district and other section staff.
Position Description Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in soil science.
Experience
Soil Scientist 9 No specific type or amount is required.
Soil Scientist 10 One year of professional experience in the surveying, classification and mapping of soils equivalent to a Soil Scientist 9. Soil Scientist P11 Two years of professional experience in the surveying, classification and mapping of soils equivalent to a Soil Scientist, including one year equivalent to a Soil Scientist 10.
Prefer : Experience in an environmental related field preferred but not required.
