Your role at GEI. Essential Responsibilities & Duties Support the completion of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Site Investigation Work Plans, Site Investigation Reports, Remedial Action Options Reports, Remedial Action Documentation Reports, and Case Closure Requests. Support the completion of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans; Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans; Pollution Incident Prevention Plans; and Monitoring Implementation Plans. Support the completion of various environmental and engineering permits and regulatory compliance reporting, including air permits, storm water and wastewater permits, air emissions inventories, hazardous material inventories, and toxic release inventories. Assist in the management of projects that support clients in the region with environmental due diligence, investigation and remediation of environmental conditions, environmental compliance and permitting. Complete a wide range of field tasks, including sampling of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, storm water, wastewater, and other media; documenting soil and groundwater remediation and soil vapor mitigation; and supervising subcontractors. Complete a wide range of office tasks, including reviewing environmental regulations and guidance documents; reviewing requests for proposals and professional qualifications; tabulating and interpreting environmental and engineering data; preparing cost estimates, proposals, and technical memorandums; and communicating with project managers and support team on project progress. Support various program initiatives and project needs by collaborating with team leaders locally and nationally. Support the completion of presentations and proposals for clients and regulators. Support various environmental and engineering projects by travelling to project sites, including some overnight assignments at regional and national locations. Minimum Qualifications 5-15 years of previous professional experience in environmental consulting, including the management of technical aspects of environmental due diligence, investigation and remediation, compliance and permitting projects. B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Hydrogeology; M.S. is a plus, or equivalent experience. P.E. or P.G., or ability to obtain such credential in less than 1 year is a plus. Excellent computer skills with MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint, and other computer applications, GIS and AutoCAD experience are a plus. Strong communication, writing, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and with project teams. Self-motivated with good problem-solving skills and willing to respond to instruction. Ability and willingness to travel for short-term and long-term field assignments as needed.
