Job Title: Environmental Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking an environmental professional with over 2 years of relevant experience to support a variety of environmental site assessment, remediation, and compliance projects. This role involves conducting environmental due diligence site assessments (Phase I and II ESAs) and coordinating with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental site investigations including sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor following proper sampling protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct environmental oversight of contractors for large-scale remediation projects.
  • Perform Operation, Monitoring, and Maintenance (OMM) on existing remedial systems such as SSDS, SVE, and GWTS.
  • Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and documentation.
  • Assist in remediation scoping, design, and planning of environmental monitoring programs.

Essential Skills

  • 2 years of experience in environmental consulting and industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience with field sampling and data collection using environmental field equipment such as PID, Flow Meter, Water-Level Meter, and CAMP Equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certification in Hazwoper and Osha 40.
  • Proficiency in report writing.
  • Experience with soil and groundwater sampling.

Work Environment

This role requires 90-100% fieldwork, with projects located throughout the 5 boroughs. The work hours on site are typically from 7am to 3pm or 4pm. Our team offers a collaborative environment with great mentorship and training, including exposure to NYC brownfield and OER projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
