Job Description
Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager for an onsite position with a leading technology solutions provider located in Fayetteville, NC. This is a direct hire role.
Our client is seeking a forward thinking, action oriented Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager who will champion a culture w safety, environmental stewardship,pliance, and operational excellence are deeply embedded in everyday work. This role has enterprise-wide influence and directly shapes how our client's Water Resources and Electric Utility divisions prevent incidents, protect employees, safeguard themunity, and deliver reliable public services. The EHS Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs that support strategic priorities, including building a strong safety culture, driving behavioral change, and ensuring consistentpliance with regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide visible, hands on leadership and reinforce accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement across operational teams
Conduct safety audits, field observations, and inspections while coaching leaders and frontline employees
Provide accurate, timely, and reliable guidance during emergency events
Lead the development and implementation of safety programs for Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Trenching/Shoring, Electrical Safety/Arc Flash, and more
Coach and develop a small internal team of SHE professionals and manage external contractors
Ensure operationalpliance with all applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success; analyze trends and deliver executive-level reporting
Manage Workers Compensation administration and ensure accurate OSHA logs, TRIR/DART, and incident rate calculations
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field and at least ten (10) years of progressive safety or environmental management experience, including five (5) years in a supervisory or project management capacity OR
Associate degree in Occupational Safety or related field and at least twelve (12) years of safety or environmental management experience
Proven ability to build and maintain a strong safety culture across field based utility operations
Solid knowledge of utility safety, environmentalpliance, inspections, and industry best practices
Strong understanding of OSHA recordkeeping, DART and incident rate calculations, and workerspensation processes
Working knowledge of industrial hygiene, hearing conservation, and exposure monitoring
Ability to lead emergency response/major incident investigations with accuracy and calm under pressure
Clear, effectivemunicator with strong presentation and training skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a focus on prevention, sustainability, and operational excellence
Pay range: $92,151.15 - $150,667.13 per year
