Our client, a leading organization in the food testing industry, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician Coordinator to join their team. As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician Coordinator, you will be part of the EHS Department supporting environmental health and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician

Location: Madison, WI

Pay Range: $23/hour

Shift: Monday to Friday, 1st shift - Start time can be flexible - 8am-4:30pm, 9am-5:30pm or 7am-3:30pm

What's the Job?

  • Manage hazardous waste storage and disposal in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Coordinate with waste disposal vendors for waste removal and management
  • Develop and implement operating procedures for hazardous waste handling
  • Conduct facility inspections and ensure adherence to safety standards
  • Prepare and maintain environmental health and safety reports and documentation

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma required; Bachelors degree in a science-related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or environmental health and safety role is advantageous but not necessary
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management regulations (EPA, DNR) is preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical tasks related to waste handling
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate with team members and vendors
