Position Overview
Reporting to our Director of Safety, the EHS Coordinator assists in planning, implementing and coordinating Safety & Health and Environmental training, activities and employee engagement to improve overall workplace safety and environmental compliance. To accomplish this, they will focus on two (2) primary objectives: 1) People-based Safety elements (safe work practices, safe choices & awareness, care & concern for others, etc.) and 2) OSHA, WDNR and regulatory compliance (meeting applicable safety & environmental rules, regulations & requirements).
Responsibilities- Enter, investigate, follow-up and close Safety suggestions, observations, injuries and property damage in a tracking system.
- Author and edit safety/environmental documentation and file as appropriate.
- Review, organize, scan and save compliance records.
- Create and present safety or environmental training for employees (new hire, periodic or annual training).
- Conduct periodic safety and environmental inspections, audits or observations including any applicable follow-up action items.
- Assist with or perform back-up functions normally performed by the Dir. Safety or the Continuous Improvement Mgr. (environmental functions).
- Maintain the divisions personal protective equipment (PPE) program including the proper selection, use, training, ordering, fitting, payroll deductions, etc.
- Complete, distribute and post daily and monthly reports as needed.
- Assist with the management of the divisions waste and recycling practices.
- With assistance, periodically review Safety policies, programs, forms, etc. improving and updating as needed.
- Research regulatory requirements and provide safety and environmental training as needed.
- Review and enter environmental data from a variety of sources into spreadsheets or other tracking systems.
- Perform applicable environmental audits including SPCC, Stormwater, HAZWASTE, and spill preparedness inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education: 4-year college degree in a safety-related discipline or industry experience.
Experience: OSHA 30 (within 6 months of assignment); First Aid/CPR certified.
Computer Skills: Experience with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Windows based programs.
