Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor (oil & gas)
Job Description
The Health & Safety Advisor role involves providing subject matter expertise and ensuring the consistent application of policies, standards, and procedures at the field level. As a role model advancing the Health & Safety strategy, you will provide expertise and direction to the business while building and maintaining strong team-focused relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to execution teams regarding the interpretation of applicable H&S Legislation, Industry standards & practices, and H&S program components and worker training requirements.
- Speak with authority and coach on programs, processes, and standards.
- Assist in the implementation of strategy and direction and goal alignment with organizational priorities.
- Participate in the review of project-specific safety documents and associated contractor performance meetings.
- Ensure H&S planning aligns with business strategy and growth plans.
- Coach, influence, motivate, and empower others regarding H&S ownership.
- Communicate relevant and timely H&S information to stakeholders.
- Ensure safe performance in accordance with the Operational Integrity Management System and related H&S requirements.
- Assist in building and sustaining an H&S capability platform tailored to business needs for field operations.
- Collaborate within the organization to share best practices, lessons learned, and improve knowledge management.
- Stay abreast of emerging H&S issues and legislation, keeping respective assets updated with relevant requirements and assisting with compliance.
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Major Projects functions, ideally in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Accredited OH&S Education.
- Strong Health & Safety management system technical knowledge.
- Experience with safety programs, procedures, and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work in the United States.
- Prepared to gain a detailed knowledge of all H&S standards, policies, and procedures.
- Able to make decisions under tight timelines and multiple pressures.
- Ability to search for understanding and find new and appropriate solutions.
Work Environment
The work schedule consists of 10-hour days, 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), with travel days included within working days. The schedule may vary to align with construction schedules. The candidate must reside in Ohio, with travel required to sites in Ohio and Superior, Wisconsin. Travel expenses include a per diem and mileage reimbursement. The position requires adaptability to different work hours and locations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.62 - $80.06/hr.
