Lab Manager Jobs in Worcester, MA

A Lab Manager in the environmental industry is responsible for coordinating all laboratory activities. This includes designing, implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, managing the budget and resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They also oversee the training and development of lab staff, as well as troubleshooting any technical issues. Apart from these, they collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct research and develop new methodologies or improvements in environmental testing.

A Lab Manager should possess excellent organizational and managerial skills. They should be knowledgeable in environmental science and laboratory procedures, with strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data. They also need to have good interpersonal skills to work with a diverse team. Relevant certifications such as Certified Laboratory Manager (CLM) or Certified Manager of Environmental Safety and Health (CMESH) may be beneficial. Prior to becoming a Lab Manager, a person might have roles such as Laboratory Technician, Environmental Analyst or Research Scientist.
