Environmental Program Manager Jobs

An Environmental Program Manager in the environmental industry is primarily responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating programs related to environmental management. They oversee environmental protection and conservation efforts, making sure that these initiatives align with a company's goals and comply with applicable regulations. The role involves developing and implementing environmental strategies, conducting environmental audits, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of these programs, and managing a team of environmental professionals.

Important skills for an Environmental Program Manager include strong leadership, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, good communication, and project management skills. In terms of certifications, a Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) credential is often preferred. Having a background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field is essential. Before becoming an Environmental Program Manager, a person may have roles such as an Environmental Consultant, Environmental Engineer, or Environmental Specialist.
